Crashbars finally installed.

So I got these crashbars off of a salvage bike back in July. They were chrome and had some mild rust pitting. I sanded them down and primered and painted them gloss black.

The bars and attaching hardware are painted and ready to install.

The bars are in place, first the bottom bolt in the engine mount bracket needs to be removed and replaced with a spacer.

On the other side there’s no hardware to mount to so the kit comes with a U-bolt to clamp the bar to the frame.

There are clamps to bolt to the frame in the center. There’s also a bolt/nut in the center to hold the two halves together. All are lots of fun to access.

Crashbars installed on the bike.

Right side view from the seat. I like the way the bars don’t stick out too far. Very subtle.

Left side view from the seat, again they dont’ stick out much at all, just enough to keep the weight off the engine.

The question is now do I look into highway pegs or not? Only if I can find some small enough and that match the style of the bike.
